As I said, Kylo going evil immediately after killing Snoke and fighting the guards makes that scene uncompelling from both a storytelling and emotional standpoint. I was hoping that Rey and Kylo were going to create a new order that was going to balanced the force but the writers pussied out because having a war and no grey area is more important than pushing a story into risktaking areas. He just wanted full control unlike his grandfather did, hence the mask crushing scene! Great Character development there!! But I agree with you that they missed the perfect opportunity to kill off a major character. Snoke was right in saying Kylo had no conflict in him, he was totally darkside. Also, Kylo never used light to kill Snoke. That being said, force bonding between Rey and Kylo!! Never have we've seen dark and light work together until that Snoke scene, and never has the line between the light and dark been this convoluted in Star Wars!! As for Poe, the best part is that his and Finn's plan fail!! Rarely do you ever see an entire subplot that is developed for a large portion of the movie, just fail! Totally unpredictable, and you saw the change in Poe's character as he chose to back down during the battle on Crait, putting him in a better position to be a quality leader of the rebellion going forward. I understand your points especially the Leia scene, which I think was the worst part of the movie. Instead, three small and forgettable background characters die in very dissatisfying conclusions. When a main character tries sacrificing themselves for the good of the galaxy KILL THEM OFF. When a ship explodes with main characters in it KILL THEM OFF. The mockery of the force, the execution in answering the mysteries of the Force Awakens and how once Luke actually died I didn’t care because it was so poorly handled. It wasn’t unpredictable at all and when there were surprising moments, I was angry about the execution. Story was weak, characters were simple, there was no emotional attachment, no deep themes and no deep conflict. Luke's motivation was interesting but there was nothing more to him than that. Luke is ruined by having him attempt to kill Kylo in training. Poe is an unlikeable Han Solo rip-off that goes nowhere. It also bothered me that he killed Snoke, fought the guards with Rey AND THEN becomes evil again making that entire scene dissatisfying. Kylo's character goes too back and forwards. Rey starts off wanting guidance and help from Luke then is pushed to the side for most of it.
